10 steps to teach you to replace the shaft seal and sleeve of an air compressor

Air compressors will have some problems more or less after being used for a certain period of time. No matter any brand of air compressors, it is impossible to fail and wear out. When the shaft seal and sleeve are damaged, it will affect the normal use of the equipment. , At this time, it needs to be replaced. Today we will learn how to replace the shaft seal and sleeve.

1. Remove the main wheel (belt drive) and remove the key pin;

2. Take out the positioning pin of the shaft seal end cover with a pin setter,

3. Remove the fixing screws of the shaft seal end cover;

4. Use a round outer puller to remove the shaft sleeve (without puller, you can use a cutting machine to make a groove on the shaft sleeve and use a chisel to lay it down. Pay attention to block the sand with something to avoid getting into the screw);

5. Remove the old shaft seal;

6. Clean the end cover shaft seal and bearing position, and then clean it with 755;

7. Apply 638 glue to the shaft seal installation position, and then carefully install the shaft seal; be careful not to damage the rubber lip, and apply some oil or high-temperature grease on the surface of the shaft seal rubber.

8. After cleaning the position of the shaft sleeve, reinstall and fix the end cover (you can wrap the shaft with thick colored paper to prevent the shaft sealing lip from accidentally touching the keyway when the end cover is installed);

9. Clean the new bushing and installation position, apply fixing glue 638 on the inner ring of the bushing, and cold fit: use the afterburner rod to evenly force the bushing in, and use the outer ring of the same size to knock in the new bushing so as not to Damage to the bushing. Hot loading: clean the inside of the shaft sleeve without oil. Apply a circle of 638 glue to the front journal of the shaft seal, heat the shaft sleeve to 110 degrees and install it. (Note: Push the shaft sleeve to the edge of the shaft seal and stop for a while. Wait for the temperature to drop before pushing on the shaft seal position.

10. Install the belt pulley or coupling, correct the parallelism or center line, and turn the machine head by hand so that the lubricating oil can return to the front bearing and shaft seal.
