The lubricating oil of screw air compressor should be the lubricating oil originally provided by the air compressor supplier. The base oil of lubricating oil is basically similar. However, the chemical agents added to the base oil are different. Mixing two different types of oil together can easily cause gelling. Once the air compressor gels, the equipment will shut down at high temperature, and the host cannot operate normally. The oil pipes, radiators, oil-gas separation barrels and all other oil-passing internal parts will form glue. Once the air compressor cools down, the lubricating oil becomes solid and the equipment needs to be overhauled. It can be said that the cost of overhaul and re-maintenance is a considerable expense. The larger the equipment, the higher the cost, and some are even close to the cost of a new air compressor. Therefore, when users maintain the equipment, they should not buy lubricating oil on the market for replacement and maintenance for the sake of convenience or cheap oil. The following is some introduction to air compressor oil. Air compressor oil is in constant contact with high-pressure hot air in the cylinder, which is prone to oxidation. Under the catalytic oxidation of metal chips, the aging of the oil is aggravated and various colloids and asphalts are generated, which reduces the mechanical efficiency of the equipment, causes wear, increases the machine temperature, and even causes cylinder explosion accidents. Therefore, air compressor oil must have good oxidation stability to improve the oxidation stability and stability of the oil. The selection of compressor oil viscosity mainly considers the exhaust pressure, and secondly takes into account the pressure ratio and exhaust temperature. Oil selection: mineral oil, semi-synthetic oil, synthetic oil (synthetic oil is mainly PAO series) are all acceptable;
2) Pour point: ≤-10℃;
3) Flash point: ≥180℃;
4) Acid value: 0.2;
5) Performance requirements: good oxidation resistance and anti-emulsification properties, less residual carbon;
6) Select the type of air compressor oil according to the design type, environmental conditions, and operating load of the compressor oil. Generally speaking, synthetic oil is used in long-term high temperature environments (>30°C); low-viscosity compressor oil can be used for high-speed water-cooled or low-pressure, small compression ratio compressors.
