How to maintain the screw air compressor in winter

As the temperature drops, screw air compressors often have some problems due to improper use or untimely maintenance, which may cause relatively large economic losses and hidden dangers. The following is a brief talk from Quanwei Yongying Screw Air Compressor Manufacturer about the winter maintenance plan, some matters that need attention, and maintenance methods. I hope it will be helpful for your screw air compressor maintenance.

1. The corresponding compressor oil should be replaced according to the temperature changes. The corresponding compressor oil should be replaced in time according to the temperature changes. Use 13# in winter (the new standard is 100# compressor oil). It is recommended to use 40CD winter oil for air compressor diesel engines above 9/7. In some areas with low temperatures, oil with a freezing point lower than the local temperature should be replaced.

2. Observe whether the oil thickens or freezes. Open the side cover before starting the machine and observe whether the oil thickens or freezes. If so, heat the oil first (that is, preheat), then open the exhaust valve on the screw air compressor, turn the large flywheel for 2-3 turns, start the machine at no load, and carefully observe whether the pressure on the pressure gauge rises to the normal value (i.e. 0.3-0.4mpa) and listen for abnormal sounds or abnormal gas. After running at no load for 15 minutes, close the valve and check whether each control line is normal, that is, whether the pressure regulating valve jumps according to regulations, and whether the first and second level pressures are normal. After normal, the air compressor enters the normal air supply state. (Reason: The machine starts working immediately, and poor lubrication can easily cause the phenomenon of pulling the valve and cylinder, which will cause the machine to explode)

3. Vent gas and drain sewage after shutdown. Because the temperature is relatively high when the unit is working in winter, the outside temperature is relatively low after shutdown, and a large amount of condensed water will be generated by air cooling, which exists in various control pipes, intercoolers and air bags, which can easily cause the control pipes and intercoolers to be blocked, and the air bags to rupture, etc.

4. Vent water in the machine and water tank. After the diesel-powered air compressor is shut down, the water in the diesel engine and water tank must be emptied, especially the drain valve under the water tank and the drain valve at the water inlet of the diesel engine, the drain valve under the cylinder of the water-cooled air compressor, and the drain valve at the inlet and drain outlet of the intercooler. Every winter, some users fail to drain the water in time, causing the cylinder to freeze and crack. When the diesel engine is used in the morning, it is better to add hot water to the water tank so that the diesel engine can be started easily.

5. For electric screw air compressors, when the compressor is just turned on in winter, the oil viscosity of the lubricating parts of the unit is relatively high, and the voltage in some mines is relatively low, which can easily cause difficulty in starting the compressor. Generally, the method is to turn the unit 2-3 times, jog the compressor 3-4 times, remove the steel rod connecting the compressor to the air bag or remove an exhaust valve, let the unit start, run the empty machine for 10 minutes, stop, and then install the removed parts and restart the machine, which can generally make the unit operate normally. In addition, after the electric air compressor is turned on every day and allowed to work normally, a multimeter can be used to measure the current during operation. Generally, the normal current is within ±5% of the rated current of the motor. If it exceeds the normal current by 10%, there is a problem with the unit or the voltage is low, and the unit should be stopped for inspection, otherwise the motor will easily heat up and burn out.
