Premonition of screw air compressor failure

Any machine equipment will have certain signs before a failure occurs, and screw air compressors are no exception:

1. Abnormal sound

The abnormal sound of the screw air compressor during operation is generally an "alarm" for equipment failure.

The reasons for the abnormal sound of the screw air compressor are as follows:

1. Wear of the main engine bearing, unbalanced shaft, damage to the yin and yang rotors;

2. The main engine is overloaded, the pressure is blocked or the pressure of the pipe network is unbalanced;

3. The bolts, nuts, gaskets and fixing brackets are loose;

4. Debris and foreign objects fall into the equipment;

5. The running time is close to the overhaul period. At this time, the axial and radial movement of the screw gradually tends to the maximum design allowable value. This change will cause a large change in the gap between the screws, the screw and the main engine housing and the front and rear end faces, thereby causing friction, vibration and various noises.

2. Leakage

1. Equipment lubricating oil leaks;

2. Screw air compressor leaks when compressing air, and sometimes you can hear the sound of leakage;

3. Leakage of circulating cooling water, etc.

The main reason for the leakage of screw air compressors is the aging or inadequate maintenance of equipment and accessories, especially the poor operation of staff. These seemingly minor problems often lead to serious consequences. Let's take compressed air as an example. Leakage will not only cause waste of electric energy, but also bring large electricity bills to enterprises, and may even cause system pressure drop, negative pneumatic equipment performance efficiency reduction, thus seriously shortening the service life of machinery and equipment. At the same time, because air leakage will cause equipment to circulate more frequently, thereby increasing the operating time of the air compressor, which leads to additional maintenance requirements and possible unplanned downtime cycles. Simply put, compressed air leakage increases unnecessary compressor capacity. Leakage, coupled with the common problem of higher-than-required system working pressure, will lead to the so-called "false demand", which keeps the compressor in a loaded state without rest. All of these will have an adverse effect on production efficiency and shorten the service life of the screw air compressor. It causes excess energy waste and reduces the life of machinery and equipment. This is the double blow that leakage brings to factories and enterprises, and we must take it seriously.

3. Special smell

1. When the motor is overheated and the lubricating oil is burned, a special smell will be emitted.

2. When the circuit is short-circuited and the insulating materials such as the grounding wire are burned, there will be a burnt smell.

3. Rubber and other materials emit a burnt smell.
