Some methods and tips for using screw compressors

In daily life, more and more companies are using screw compressors. How to use screw compressors correctly? Here are some methods for you:


I. Correct start


1. Open the cooling water inlet valve and check whether the water supply to the cylinders of each level of coolers is normal.


2. Check whether the oil level in the crankcase is at the specified position.


3. Check whether the inlet regulating valve is in the closed state, whether the outlet vent valve of the screw air compressor is open, and whether the air supply valve is closed.


4. Whether the electrical equipment is in the starting position.


5. Check whether the anchor screws and coupling screws are loose.


6. Turn the flywheel several times to check whether the flywheel is stuck.


II. Precautions


1. The operation, repair and maintenance of the screw compressor must be carried out by qualified personnel.


2. The screw compressor cannot be reversed. After the first start or the overhaul of the electronic control system, before starting the compressor, you must first confirm whether the direction of rotation of the motor is consistent with the specified direction.


3. When removing high-temperature components, wait until the temperature cools down to the ambient temperature before proceeding.


4. It is recommended to use special oil for screw compressors. Lubricating oils of different brands are not allowed to be mixed.


5. Without the permission of the screw compressor manufacturer, do not make any changes or add any devices to the compressor that affect safety and reliability.


6. The original spare parts of the screw compressor are specially designed and manufactured. It is recommended to use authentic spare parts to ensure the reliability and safety of the compressor.


3. Correct Care and Maintenance


1. Check the oil level, exhaust temperature and exhaust pressure daily, and check for abnormal sounds;


2. Open the separator drain valve to drain condensed water before starting the machine every week, check for leaks, check the safety valve, and check the belt wear (visual inspection);


3. Regularly check the intake control valve, minimum pressure valve, electrical control box connection terminal, safety valve, and cooling fan;


4. Clean and sweep the cooler regularly, and test the reliability of the safety valve;


5. Regularly replace the oil filter element, oil separator filter element, intake filter element, and lubricating oil.


IV. Troubleshooting common faults


1. The machine does not start: check the main switch and power cord, check the motor;


2. The machine does not load after starting: adjust the pressure switch setting value or replace the pressure switch, check or replace the solenoid valve;


3. The compressor does not unload, and the safety valve is released: adjust the pressure switch setting value or replace the pressure switch, check or replace the solenoid valve;


4. Excessive oil consumption: use the recommended oil, lower the oil level to the normal position, remove the return oil pipeline for cleaning, and replace the oil-gas separator filter element;


5. The exhaust pressure is lower than the specified value: reduce the gas consumption or increase the compressor, check the system leakage, clean or replace the intake filter element, replace the oil-gas separator filter element, check or replace the solenoid valve, repair the intake control valve, replace the belt, and adjust the pressure switch setting value.
