Key points for selecting screw air compressors for the spraying industry

Air spraying is a coating process currently used in the spraying industry. Compressed air is the main power source of the air spraying system. The method of using compressed air airflow to atomize the paint through a spray gun is applied to various industries such as automobiles, hardware, and furniture.

In air spraying, the main purpose of the air compressor system is to provide it with stable and reliable compressed air. With the continuous improvement of the spraying process, users have higher and higher requirements for quality. Since compressed air is mixed with paint, the compressed air supplied to the spray gun should be dry, oil-free, water-free, and impurity-free during user use, otherwise it will seriously affect the quality of the coating.

Particle impurities are the natural enemy of spraying, and their presence seriously affects the surface quality of the coating. Not only does it directly affect the appearance of the coating, but it also directly affects the qualified rate of the coating. In some decorative product coating occasions with high grade requirements, the paint surface is required to be smooth, particle-free, and bright as a mirror, that is, the surface of the product is not allowed to have particle impurities.

When using screw air compressors to compress air, if the oil or water in the air is not properly handled, it will cause shrinkage, pinholes, bubbles, pitting and other quality defects. Shrinkage is one of the disadvantages of the spraying process. It affects the appearance quality of the coating, and the exposed shrinkage will also destroy the integrity of the coating, and it cannot be eliminated by general grinding and polishing. And once the shrinkage phenomenon occurs, it is difficult to find the cause and eliminate it in a short time, and it will also cause the production to be unable to proceed normally.

Therefore, during the spraying construction, the pressure of the compressed air of the screw air compressor cannot have a large fluctuation and should be controlled within a certain range. If the air pressure is too low, the paint liquid will not be fully atomized and the paint film will be uneven; when the air pressure is too high, although the paint liquid is well atomized, the paint mist speed will be too fast, resulting in large paint loss. If the high-pressure airflow is sprayed onto the uncured paint film, it is easy to produce paint film defects such as pits and tiny bubbles.

Then the spraying industry should consider the purification of compressed air when using screw air compressors. For this reason, it should be equipped with reasonable refrigerated dryers, filters and air storage tanks to purify the compressed air. And when purchasing a screw air compressor, you should choose a screw air compressor that operates reliably and stably.
