Safety measures for using oil-free air compressor

(1) When the compressed air is cooled, the condensed oil-water mixture in the cooler, air storage tank, and oil separator should be blown away in time, at least once every hour.

(2) When the oil-free air compressor is working, if the cooling water is not supplied in time, it should be stopped immediately to wait for cooling.

(3) Before starting the oil-free air compressor, the water jackets of the cylinder and cooler should be filled with water first.

(4) Before the cylinder water jacket is completely cooled, water should not be added to prevent cracks in the cylinder wall.

(5) The cooling water entering the water jacket should be put into the water tank with a special water pressure drop. The water tank is equipped with a water level indicator. When the water level drops below the limit, the signal device will take effect. A centrifugal pump can also be used to fill the water. Do not use a self-watering pipe to fill the water directly, because it is difficult to see whether water is filled or not.

(6) When draining water from the cylinder water jacket or the cooler water jacket, an open liquid flow should be used to check the uninterrupted effect of all cooling equipment and measure the drainage temperature. The discharge temperature shall not be higher than the inlet water temperature by 20℃-30℃.

(7) To prevent explosion caused by overpressure, the compressor shall be equipped with a calibrated pressure gauge and safety valve.

(8) When the compressed air is to be introduced into a system with lower pressure, a pressure reducer shall be installed.

(9) To prevent the compressor system from being broken due to the ignition of explosive gas mixture, the following measures shall be taken:

① The air intake pipe shall be located in a position where unclean gas, evaporation and dust are not mixed. The air inlet of the air intake pipe shall have a protective cover to prevent the intrusion of rain, ice and snow and other debris.

② The air shall pass through a filter to remove dust.

③ The air coming out of the cylinder shall be cooled to about 25℃-30℃ by a special water pipe cooler to prevent condensed water from accumulating in the duct.

(10) When inspecting and repairing, special attention must be paid to prevent cleaning materials, wood blocks, etc. from falling into the cylinder, air storage barrel and pipe, as such materials may catch fire in the compressed air.

(11) When cleaning the cylinder wall, use kerosene instead of gasoline, and the cleaning cloth should not be soaked in too much oil.

(12) After cleaning, the cylinder cover must be opened to allow the kerosene to evaporate completely.

(13) When using compressed air, the airflow direction must never be towards the staff.

(14) The grease inside the connecting pipe of the oil-free air compressor must be carefully cleaned; depending on the operating conditions of the equipment, the cleaning cycle is generally 3 to 6 months.
