Necessity of frequency conversion transformation of air compressors

With the rapid development of the national economy, the consumption of energy such as electricity is increasing. How to save energy and reduce consumption has become a problem that every country, enterprise and even individual must consider. Air compressors are one of the commonly used equipment in manufacturing plants. According to a survey by an authoritative organization, the operating energy consumption cost of the air compression system accounts for about 86% of the total cost in five years. The initial purchase cost of the compression system only accounts for about 8% of the total cost. The main production line of a company is equipped with two KASER CS121 ordinary screw air compressors produced in 1995, one for backup and one for use, with a power of 75 kw/unit. The following problems exist during system operation:

(1) Although the main motor is started with star-to-corner decompression, the current at startup is still very large, which affects the stability of the power grid and the safe operation of other electrical equipment;

(2) The main motor often runs at no load, which is uneconomical and wastes a lot of energy;

(3) The main motor starts at industrial frequency, which has a great impact on the equipment, and the motor bearings and other components are easily damaged;

(4) The main motor runs at industrial frequency, which makes the air compressor noisy during operation.

The frequency converter is used in traditional air compressors. It can instantly sense the actual air pressure in the system according to the pressure sensor installed on the air storage bag. Through electrical control and frequency conversion speed regulation, the motor speed, that is, the output power, is instantly controlled without changing the air compressor motor torque. The air compressor speed is changed to reflect the changes in system pressure, and the system pressure is maintained stable, so as to achieve the on-demand output of high-quality compressed air and ultimately achieve the effect of saving electricity. In view of this, it is necessary to carry out frequency conversion energy-saving transformation of the air compressor, which can not only save a lot of operating costs and reduce production costs, but also reduce equipment maintenance costs.

The main benefits of frequency conversion of air compressors are:

(1) Better resource conservation;

(2) Effectively reduce various maintenance and upkeep costs;

(3) Improve control accuracy;

(4) Ensure safe operation and extend the life cycle of operation;

(5) Reduce the noise of air compressors, etc.
