Reasons and Solutions for High Exhaust Temperature Caused by Malfunctioning Oil Shut-off Solenoid Valve

Fault Phenomenon:

During unit operation, the exhaust temperature exceeds 100℃, triggering a protective shutdown.

Cause Analysis:

Insufficient lubricating oil in the unit or the lubricating oil specifications do not meet the requirements.

Solution:

1. Check the unit's lubricating oil level. If it is below "L", stop the unit and add oil until it reaches "H", and check the oil type and replace with the appropriate oil;

2. Check the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet water pipes, and check the inlet water temperature.

Reasons and Solutions for High Exhaust Temperature Caused by Malfunctioning Temperature Control Valve?

Cause Analysis:

There is a temperature control valve at the front of the oil cooler. If the oil temperature rises to the opening temperature, the temperature control valve will gradually open until it is fully open. At this time, the lubricating oil will enter the unit after being cooled by the oil cooler. However, if the temperature control valve malfunctions, the lubricating oil will not pass through the oil cooler, so the temperature will gradually rise, leading to a shutdown. A common cause of malfunction in the temperature control valve during operation is carbon buildup causing it to seize.

Solution:

Clean or replace the temperature control valve. We can first remove the valve core of the temperature control valve and then use a carbon deposit cleaner to clean the carbon deposits. To determine if it is clean, you can put the valve core in hot water to check if it operates normally.
