The air compressor has a dryer installed, but there is still a lot of water

The post-treatment equipment for screw air compressors mainly includes air tanks, dryers, and filters. Dry compressed air ensures the smooth operation of the air compressor system and production process.

The function of the dryer is to remove condensed water from the compressed air, ensuring that the discharged compressed air is dry and clean. Even with a dryer installed, the presence of moisture in the compressed air is likely due to the following reasons:

1. High humidity in the air surrounding the compressor station

Air itself has humidity and contains a certain amount of water. When the air is compressed, due to the high temperature inside the compressor, the moisture evaporates directly to form water vapor, which is then discharged from the compressor along with the pressure. This forms condensate. Therefore, the humidity of the air compressor's working environment should be low; or the condensed water should be drained before starting operation.

2. Malfunction of the post-treatment drying equipment

Generally, the drying capacity of a refrigerated dryer is a pressure dew point of 3°C. If the temperature at your workplace is below 3°C, there will be water. In this case, it is recommended to configure a micro-heat adsorption dryer as post-treatment drying equipment, which can achieve a pressure dew point of -20°C without producing water.

3. Insufficient capacity of the post-treatment drying equipment configured for the air compressor

Generally, the drying capacity of the post-treatment equipment configured by the manufacturer for the user is based on the average air consumption. If your instantaneous air consumption is very high, it will lead to insufficient capacity of the post-treatment drying equipment, resulting in water in the air.

4. The air tank itself has a water storage function

There is a lot of water inside that hasn't been drained, so it's important to remember to drain it. Regularly open the drain valve at the bottom of the air tank to drain the water.
