Air Filter - A Vulnerable Part of a Screw Air Compressor

The air filter of an air compressor consists of an air filter assembly and a filter element. It is externally connected to the air compressor's intake valve and filters out dust and impurities from the incoming air. We need to select a suitable air filter based on the size of the air intake.

Fault Symptom: Blockage

A blocked air filter leads to energy loss, wasted electricity, increased dust, and affects the lifespan of the air compressor oil. It may also cause blockage of the oil-air separator.

Troubleshooting:

1. The filter element is a crucial component of the air filter and is relatively easy to damage, requiring frequent maintenance and upkeep.

2. During long-term operation, the filter element traps impurities, causing increased pressure and reduced flow. In this case, timely cleaning is necessary.

3. Avoid excessive force during cleaning, as this may deform or damage the filter element.

High-quality air filters use filter paper filled with synthetic resin microfiber paper, which effectively filters impurities and has a strong dirt-holding capacity. This type of filter paper can withstand strong airflow, ensuring filtration efficiency and extending the equipment's lifespan. The filter paper has a pore size of approximately 10µm. Dust should typically be removed from the surface every 1000 hours by blowing it outwards using low-pressure air. If the display panel indicates that the air filter is clogged, it means the air filter needs cleaning or replacement.
