I. Stable Air Pressure:
1. Variable frequency screw air compressors utilize the stepless speed regulation of frequency converters. Through the controller or the PID regulator inside the frequency converter, they can start smoothly and respond quickly to situations with large fluctuations in air consumption.
2. Compared with the upper and lower limit switch control of fixed frequency operation, air pressure stability is exponentially improved.
II. Shock-Free Start-up:
1. Because the frequency converter itself includes the function of a soft starter, the maximum starting current is within 1.2 times the rated current, compared to the fixed frequency starting current which is generally more than 6 times the rated current, resulting in very little starting shock.
2. This shock is greatly reduced not only on the power grid but also on the entire mechanical system.
III. Variable Flow Control:
1. Fixed frequency driven air compressors can only operate at one discharge capacity, while variable frequency air compressors can operate at a wider discharge capacity range. The frequency converter adjusts the motor speed in real time according to the actual air consumption to control the discharge capacity. 2. When air consumption is low, the air compressor can automatically enter sleep mode, greatly reducing energy loss. 3. Optimized control strategies can further improve energy-saving effects.
IV. Better AC power voltage adaptability: 1. Due to the overmodulation technology used in the frequency converter, sufficient torque can still be output to drive the motor when the AC power voltage is slightly low; even when the voltage is slightly high, it will not cause the output voltage to the motor to be too high; 2. For self-generated power, frequency conversion drive shows its advantages even more; 3. Based on the characteristics of the motor's voltage factor (frequency conversion air compressors operate below the rated voltage in energy-saving mode), the effect is obvious in sites with low grid voltage. V. Low noise: 1. Most operating conditions of the frequency conversion system are below the rated speed, reducing the mechanical noise and wear of the main unit, extending maintenance and service life; 2. If the fan also uses frequency conversion drive, the noise of the air compressor during operation can be significantly reduced.
